With the Supreme Court apparently ready to overturn Roe v. Wade and with various states imposing severe abortion restrictions, this is a good time to review why and when people have a right to get an abortion. To preview and summarize my position: Before a fetus develops the physical capacity for consciousness, the fetus is not a person with a right to life, so abortion should be totally unrestricted at that stage. In fact, that is
